Robert L. Larsen “Bob,” age 80, of Beaver Dams, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, February 24, 2025. Born in Auburn, New York, Bob, was the son of Laverne “Vern” and Ruth Larsen. He married the love of his life, Cathy, over 47 years ago.A man of many nicknames and monikers, Bob, Beardo, Bif and Bap. He was the oldest of eight kids. He was a son, a brother, a husband, a father, an uncle, and a papa, and he was everyone’s favorite. After school, he joined the Seabees and became a mechanic, a builder, and a union carpenter for over 40 years. There was nothing he couldn’t fix or understand, and he’d often take off in the middle of the night to help someone fix it or figure it out. He “retired” from the union in 2004 but never spent a day not working or getting something done for somebody. And he always showed up with his beard, his bandana, and a pencil behind his ear, with his coffee, his smokes, and his radio, ready to make some sawdust and do some razzing. He loved every part of his world, from the whole Finger Lakes region that he adored, where he spent the majority of his life, to his van and garage, where he spent the majority of his days. He loved his life and so many of the people in it. To those who got to know him, they knew his smile, his wit, and his knowledge were all endless. He was a true legend of his time and he will be missed and remembered by the world and all who were lucky enough to know him.In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two brothers, William Larsen and James Larsen. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Larsen; his son Joshua Larsen (Kristie Folmar); his daughter, Destiny Larsen-Provancher (Brian Provancher); his grandson and buddy, Zion Larsen-Provancher; his sisters Sandra Larsen, Margaret McGough, Helen Larsen, Carol Bobertz, and Mary (Ken) Hampton; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N.
