Fitzpatrick, who was first elected to Congress in 2016, once again fended off a primary challenge in April by besting Mark Houck, an anti-abortion activist, by 23 points. Ehasz, a U.S. Army veteran, was unopposed for the Democratic Party nomination. This is her second bid to try to unseat Fitzpatrick; he defeated her in 2022 by nearly 10 points.
