ITHACA, N.Y. — The Tompkins County Legislature reelected Dan Klein as chair and elected Greg Mezey as vice chair during its first meeting of 2025 on January 7.
Klein, in his 12th year representing District 7, was nominated by Legislator Veronica Pillar and seconded by Legislator Randy Brown. He was unanimously chosen and expressed his gratitude, vowing to meet his colleagues’ expectations.
The Legislature also elected Mezey, a District 13 representative, as vice chair. Legislator Travis Brooks nominated him, and his appointment was seconded by Legislator Amanda Champion. Mezey won the position with a 12-2 vote, replacing Shawna Black. He thanked his colleagues for their confidence and committed to fulfilling his duties.
