New York Governor Kathy Hochul has signed legislation to cap out-of-pocket costs for EpiPens, making them more affordable for residents. The new law limits the cost to $25 for a 30-day supply of epinephrine auto-injectors, effective January 1, 2025. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on individuals with severe allergies who rely on these life-saving devices.

Additionally, the legislation mandates that EpiPens be readily accessible at large public venues across the state, enhancing emergency preparedness for allergic reactions.

Allergy Advocates New York has expressed gratitude to Governor Hochul for expanding access and affordability of emergency epinephrine in the state.

This measure is part of a series of new laws set to take effect in early 2025.
