BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (Oct. 22, 2024) — New York State Senator Lea Webb is encouraging high school seniors in New York to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to maximize their opportunities for financial aid for college.

During a recent event at Binghamton High School, Webb emphasized the importance of early FAFSA submission, noting that it is crucial for accessing various financial resources, including grants and scholarships. “Completing the FAFSA can open doors to funding that can make a significant difference in the pursuit of higher education,” Webb said.

FAFSA applications are now open for the 2024-2025 academic year, and students are urged to apply as soon as possible. The senator highlighted that many students may miss out on financial aid simply due to procrastination.

Webb’s office is providing resources and support to help students navigate the FAFSA process, including information sessions and one-on-one assistance.

For more information on how to apply for FAFSA and other financial aid resources, students can visit the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation website.
