VESTAL, N.Y. (APN) — Educators gathered in Vestal on Tuesday for a mobile roundtable discussion aboard the “Common Ground Over Chaos” bus, part of a statewide tour organized by the New York State United Teachers (NYSUT) union.

Democratic congressional candidate Josh Riley joined the conversation, calling for better pay for teachers and more public school funding. Riley criticized tax breaks for Wall Street while educators often pay for school supplies out of pocket.

The tour, which will make 40 stops across the state, runs through Election Day. Riley is set to face Republican Marc Molinaro in a rematch in the general election.
