Community Action Akron Summit, a private nonprofit group, will hold a Head Start enrollment day on Tuesday for families to learn more about Head Start. Parents and guardians will also be able to enroll their children in this federally funded program. Head Start provides part- and full-day programs for children aged 3 to 5 from low-income families. The group’s goal, according to their website, is to ensure “that both low-income children and parents are prepared for kindergarten and for a life filled with learning.”Other programs offered by Community Action include Early Head Start for children from birth to age 3. The group also offers in-home services to pregnant women and families preparing for the birth of a child.
