ITHACA, N.Y. — A two-car crash in Enfield Monday afternoon left one person trapped and multiple people injured. According to a release from Enfield Fire and Rescue, units responded to the scene of the crash around 5:22 p.m. near the intersection of Black Oak and Waterburg Roads. Three Enfield fire engines responded to the scene, as well as Bangs Ambulance, local law enforcement, Tompkins County EMS workers and Mecklenburg Fire Company. Upon arrival, one person was found trapped inside one of the involved vehicles. The person was soon extricated from the wreckage by firefighters. A helicopter was requested to transport at least one of the crash victims, but the helicopter team did not respond to the site due to weather. Eventually, all patients were treated or transported by Bangs Ambulance. The Ithaca Voice is awaiting further details about the condition of the patients and any charges that may be forthcoming.
